Released
A blanket of darkness covered in fear and guilt weighed heavily on my soul. Gasping for a life gone by, eyes veiled with poison and greed. The dismal reality of death and distortion immobilizes my body.
I slowly move through the quicksand morning lifeless and defeated.
The strong pull of nature calls me to its countryside. I resist and fumble through the path leading to its open mouth. A familiar yet eerily unknown place summons me back with it’s potent cocktail of intoxicating scents of pine, sage, and eucalyptus. I stumble over jagged rocks, dirt and gravel as I ascend the demanding terrain.
I stop to reflect and catch my breath. In an instant I am disarmed by the remarkable beauty that seemed to appear out of nowhere. My eyes blinded by a past of winter storms fueled by resentment and anger.
A faint glow of orange and yellow peak through an empty cavern of hope.
The warmth and glow illuminates the cold unseen depths of shame and solitude. Healing light washes over my marred body restoring my aching flesh.
My soul struck with the flames of divine rebirth. The leaves on the shimmering green palm trees dance and whirl in unison with the universe. I awaken to the deafening sedating hymn of the earth. My body, mind, and soul connected to a force that lifts me into another realm of consciousness. Shackles unlocking, light penetrating, joy emanating, weight lifting, fear escaping. This unknown, mysterious, unbridled sensation moves over me with a supernatural force and takes control. Surrounded only by the beauty of nature, I am consoled by the intense feeling of love and light.
I am released, I am forgiven, I am one with God.
